Well today everything is working again.  Our network provider called me first thing in the morning, and fixed everything.  So now I can introduce you to CELESTE, our newest and very pretty dress in a japanese floral printed fabric.

I am sure that every seamstress will recognize the brand of this fabric and the beautiful rose print from LECIEN fabrics.  Every year they  come out with similar prints and different colors.  This year they came out with a navy blue background, and it is breathtaking.  I have always been a big fan of navy blue, so I knew I wanted to order this lovely fabric.  I did not however plan on combining it with a light pink solid, but in the end it was my favorite combination.  I could also envision this fabric with a lovely red and white gingham, or soft red print.

I made this dress for a special customer who was looking for a dress for an older granddaughter.  She wanted something with no frills, no ruffles and no flutters.  That is my kind of dress, when you want to show off the girl, and the fabric, and this fabric does not need much detailing, so I chose a classic bodice style dress.  I added a very wide sash, and a hand pleated hem just to give it a “special” touch, and viola…….GORGEOUSNESS!  LOL.

The trends are speaking loud and clear, and basics are back on the agenda.  Customers are requesting less color, less frills, less ruffles.  Obviously, a beautiful fabric, paired with solids, and simple design is all we want to buy right now.  So I hope Celeste is exactly what my customers like.  Below you will find other LECIEN fabrics I have just received, and will offer in this dress style.Flowersugarcomposition
